Linwood Elementary is a vibrant Pre-K through 5th grade school located in Yazoo County, Mississippi, where we take pride in educating the whole child academically, socially, and emotionally.

The 2024–2025 school year marks another exciting chapter for Linwood Elementary as we continue our mission of Never Ending Road to Dedicated Success (N.E.R.D.S.). Our school is part of the Yazoo County School District, known for its commitment to excellence, strong community partnerships, and dedication to student achievement. At Linwood, every day is a great day to be a Panther!

Linwood Elementary has a proud tradition of academic success, positive behavior, and community involvement. We are committed to creating a safe and nurturing learning environment where students are encouraged to think critically, explore creatively, and act responsibly. Our staff works collaboratively to ensure that every student receives high-quality instruction aligned to Mississippi College- and Career-Readiness Standards.

Our campus includes inviting classrooms, a media-rich library, and modern technology that supports 21st-century learning. Each student has access to a Chromebook or iPad to support digital learning through programs such as i-Ready, Renaissance Accelerated Reader, Imagine Learning, and other interactive tools that enhance instruction and engagement. Bright, colorful hallways display student work, inspirational messages, and Panther Pride throughout the building.

Students at Linwood participate in weekly enrichment classes, including physical education, library, and science. Our school counselor provides lessons focused on character education, leadership, and social-emotional growth. We believe in developing well-rounded learners who are not only academically prepared but also kind, confident, and community-minded.

Our dedicated teachers plan collaboratively each week to design lessons that are engaging, research-based, and inclusive. Reading instruction is supported through evidence-based programs grounded in the Science of Reading, while math lessons focus on problem-solving and real-world application.
